T-Bolt Clamps (How to and list)

Attached is a list and location diagram of the T-bolt Clamps.

Many people have had problems with IC Hoses blowing off under high boost. There are several fixes. This is probably the cheapest and one of the more permanent solution.

How to:
Remove Under tray.
Remove Front Bumper.
Remove Air box Snorkel.

Now you have access to all the clamps.

If you want to do this right remove the rubber hose and slide both clamps over the ends of the hose and re-install. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN CLAMPS! You will break the bolt.

My suggestion... I installed about half of my clamps with out removing the hose. This kept the "seal" with the piping. Use caution not to kink the clamp if you try this.

This is awesome. Thank you so much for posting.

Which silicon hoses are you using? Have you heard of any real difference between the vendors (Samco, OBX, etc.)?

I have Samco's. I have never seen any other brands installed. I am VERY happy with mine.

I have Samco hoses too and I have some "Clampco" t-bolt clamps that I got awhile back (from ATP) and they don't fit anything I have. I have the 3 inch clamp that is slightly too small for the T-body and a bunch of 2.5 inch clamps that are also too small... Seems like I would need 3.25" and 2.75" clamps...

The page you show has the clamps listed as "for 3 inch parts" etc, are the clamps actually 3" and 2.5" clamps or a size bigger?

Perhaps you can help me understand the actual clamp sizes? Possibly the brand I have are measured differently?

I have been planning to get the NAPA clamps that were talked about, but have been a tad confused to the actual sizes in looking at the ones I have that were supposed to fit and don't.

Thanks in advance!

The ONLY clamp that I had any potential issues with was on of the 1 1/2" for the BOV. The one that connected to the IC pipe fit great. The one that connected to the BOV tightened right as I ran out of threads. I wondered how well it wold hold. I ran a dyno the next day and it held 27lbs boost with no problem at all.

All in all, the fit was PERFECCT!

Thumbs up

Ok, so in the site www.siliconeintakes.com it explains the sizes of the clamps to be actually bigger than the size... For instance a clamp for 3" silicone parts explains that the actual clamping ability is 3.11" to 3.43"

I will most definitely order from here so I don't waste more money on clamps that don't fit!

Thanks for sharing this with us, big help!!!

Ditto. So the attached pic of the "Checkout" in the first post would be all the clamps and proper sizes, right?

Yes, the checkout was the clamps that I used and they ALL fit. If you talk to Jon at SI he has the part listings and qty.

nice thread.. are those tbolts from that particular store good quality?

anyways, t bolt clamps are definetly the way to to on all your tubes, easy to use and provide a wide, equal clamping force

Guys, what's the difference between hose clamps and t-bolt clamps??!?! Is there any?

Would hose clamps work in the same way?

Hose clamps tighten by a screw biting into serrations on the band itself. They are pretty weak and dont clamp well, thus not holding much boost.

T-clamps tighten by a nut running down a bolt. It is much stronger and holds much more boost.
