For that price I doubt its ball bearing. Either way, figure out what you want your goals to be first, then choose a turbo that suits that.

My friend, you can forget finding a ball bearing FP Red for $1,250. It kills me when it is the first question that is asked of the OP by others. If your goals are 400whp on 91-octane, depending on your modifications and engine size, it is very possible. I have a 2.4LR engine and running 91-octane here in southern Arizona making well over that mark. I am finalizing my tune as there are some equation issues I am having with EVO Scan. For the price and mileage, it is a good price. Does it also come with the FP oil feed line?

Is the seller local to you? If so, then you can check the turbo out in person before making the purchase. Like others stated, know what you are going to use the car for. The Red is no good if you want to auto-x with a stock block Evo.

well thanks for the headsup , i was just browsing through CL and found it and yes it come with the oil feed line, it seems like a really good deal

As far as what i want to use it for ? just for a DD and occasionally just to floor it nothing out of the ordinary. im not into launching a car, i take really good care of my evo and just like the idea of having power.

I would honestly hold off on the turbo. I understand the having money in the pocket and it's burning a hole in your pocket, but do the Research first. I did the same thing you did, I saw an awesome deal and just went for it cuz I wanted some more out of my Engine. Good deals come around often on EvoM so keep an eye out. But first think about what you want and think about what supporting mods you would need to have in order to run a different turbo. Yes some are just a stock frame and sit right in without much else, but then you have to worry about what the previous owner had the wastegate set at and all that jazz. I had to get my car tuned and buy some extra parts that were needless to say, expensive. So just do some research about what you really want and what you can afford. Just my words of advice, but again, people do whatever they want. Good luck though man

Is your car stock or does it have some mods done to it? I am making 365hp 360torque. On a full exhaust uicp licp tune at 25psi upgraded intercooler and fuelpump. My goal is to make 400-450 and I am going to do e85 and building a head. Like everyone else said its up to you.
