Why suddenly Timing jumps around during idle logging?

Why suddenly Timing jumps around during idle logging?

Hi,
just curious why does the idling timing jumps around?

My timing map at 1000 rpm til 60 load cell is 15 deg and my evoscan used to log 15 deg of timing during stationary/idle but now the timing kept jumping around during idle.

Any idea???

I think it's normal for timing to jump around at idle as the ECU uses timing adjustments to maintain your idle rpm.

Oic...Thanks Raptor but most of my previous logs, my idle timing is always constant at 15 deg as set.

Just wonder will a bad cam sensor cause such problem?

If the idle rpm was higher in those logs, maybe it wasn't triggering the ECU into "idle mode", therefore not using timing to maintain a steady rpm? This is just a theory.
