3rd to 4th help

all of a sudden after last night my 3rd to 4th gear shifts do not feel as smooth. It feels like its dosent want to go in smoothly and occasionally will lock me out, im pretty sure its not my driving style although it could be. Maybe its been like this all along who knows. Whats the possible cause, im pretty sure the tranny was rebuilt by a previous owner from research i have dug up. ideas? ps. i dont slam gears or anything. im pretty sure i have a short throw or short shifter also

clutch: ACT 6 puck sprung/10lb flywheel
fluid: Redline MT90

It is possible that you have worn out shifter bushings...

My friend drove my car he said it felt fine. I noticed when i shift i wrap my hand around the shifter pulling it towards me a bit. Possibly causing it to get stuck on the shift pattern thing for a split second until i get it in, and when i shift fast in the heat of the moment i dont really realize it

I just put a Greddy counter weight shift knob in my Evo I noticed I hit the shift fork going into 4th on occasion under normal driving as well.

Check everything externally no problems. Called Shepard transmission as well. If it does it while your car is off and you try shifting its definetly an internal problem.

From: Driving ten under in the passing lane, right turn signal on at all times.
My shifter (5 speed) can be notchy, especially when cold or when cornering hard.

For some reason this goes away if I shift with a light a touch as possible.

Any idea why? At any rate, I plan to try new bushings and see if it helps.
