Oil cooler
Maybe you guys can help me out. With this thread I noticed that it isn't necessary to have an oil cooler installed....but what if a shop replaced the oil cooler (OEM) with another OEM oil cooler and the lines were hooked up backwards? Could this cause damage to the engine? I think it could...cuz that is the boat I'm in right now. Please let me know if you have heard of or encountered this before. Thank you!
It does matter. The oil should go in the bottom and out the top. This way it gets pushed through the cooler, instead of falling through the cooler. But this only concerns efficiency. It won't brake anything if its backwards.
