I'm also in the same boat. I would really love to switch. Are there any hard lines that are more durable and e85 compliant? anybody has a link? Is e85 thicker than 91-93 octane(viscosity)? is there a sensor or a filter that can be used to monitor the quality of gas?

But you need to go to the gas station very often because of horrible gas mileage. and it smells like beer brewing plant from your exhaust and drivers behind you will notice the smell also if you floor it.

However, it is pretty good for passing smoke check.
Agreed. Practicality is the first and most important thing to consider. I ran E-85 for a whole year. I dd and autox my car, and have stations very close by. It was still not practical for me, and I had to plan my routes all the time. If you drive your car a lot, its not practical. The 50hp you gain is not worth the headache imo.

I'm just concerned about bad fuel, what happens if I have a tank of e70 and mash on it? Will my car blow up lol

I ordered that to check e85 levels before I fill up
On a stock turbo/maf car your not going to just mash it and blow it up cause the ethanol content changed 10 points. If that happens your tuner is terrible or there was something that was gonna let loose anyway. It will change the a/f's some when the ethanol content goes down it richens it up a little and vice versa. Just keep an eye on everything, I don't even leave the house without a laptop if I know I'm going to be doing lots of pulls, doesn't ever hurt to do some logging to just keep an eye on everything. I ran the **** outta my stock turbo/ethanol setup at 400 hp and never had an issue. Also I use that test tube to check the ethanol as here in Indiana they have winter blend, make sure it's nice and clean and clear, I always use the same station cause its clean and consistent, I've tested some stations that have milky ethanol and like crap floating in the top. I'm sure those stations would clog injectors much quicker.

What things do I monitor on my logs? And I use a tactrix cable?

Just don't smash like crazy but if your tune is conservative it should be fine.

Do it! E85 is awesome!

I've been running on E85 for about 3 weeks with zero complaints. I'll probably cycle some pump gas through after the winter
