I agree, it's terrible with the A/C on in stop and go especially with passengers. You have to ride the clutch to get it going. Hopefully I wil add the clutch line mod b4 the summer.
I much prefer to drive with the windows down in the heat even though it's hot as **** out here from May to October. I just drive my other car when I don't want to sweat. Auto accord v6. Doesn't even flinch with the A/C on in the heat. Oh, well, the price you pay for performance.

The A/C isn't really so much electronic as it is mechanical.

The A/C doesn't add undue stress. Turn it back on and be comfortable. You put more wear on your engine by running it out to redline.

Or is it the belt you are worried about? It is just a belt. When it fails, replace it.

Like I said. A difference in opinion. Plus, I live in South Dakota, there are very few days that you need the A/C. I take excellent care of every automobile I drive, from my 30G plus Evo, to my 500 dollar Protege. And yes, it does add more stress to the engine by having thing the AC on in stop and go driving, just look at the power loss when its on. If that doesnt indicate additional stress I dont know what does. I hate the way it idles whens its on. Even when I am "lightly accelerating". I am fully aware of how much wear is put on the engine when it is run out to redline, thats why I do it very sparingly. But thanks for your comments, thats what this forum is all about right? People with different opinons discussing anything they want.

I like the rough idle, but I also like the squeaky brakes, rough ride, loud tires and occasional interior buzzes. That's ***** out if you ask me
