I am running over 450hp on a stock block right now with a 35r. Like the others said its more about where the tq curve hits than anything. We have some great tuning resources in the US.

How do you keep the torque down?

Is it all in the mapping?

Check out the GM 3 port, you can control boost per rpm to keep everything in check. Its all in the tune.

^ me too it's all in the tune I'm gonna be pushing closer to 520 but have the tq come in later on my ef3 with e85 tq is what kills motors a good tuner can adjust your tq curve over to the right and keep it low as well

Boosted91t tuned my car I'm on stock bottom end just hks272 cams, supertech valve springs and retainers, and arp head studs. With a dbb 6265 turbo. I put down right around 500hp 400ft. And the car is a dream to drive. But want more haha but who doesn't. Btw that was with 93 octane pump gas

It is a BBK Full turbo, running about 28 lbs of boost. Someone already mentioned, but our 93 is about equal to your 99.

Good luck!

The secret is keeping torque around 400-425 ft lbs to the wheels at lower rpm and no more than 450 at higher rpm. I made 575/400 on a stock 2.0L IX motor with a 35R on straight 92 octane (97 RON).

E85 is rated MON not RON and the estimates that the US government provide of 105 MON are not only low but for E70 as well. Its actual octane rating is closer to 117 for how it tunes and the level of protection it offers. E98 can support 1300whp and is rated on the Wiki article at only 109. Originally before that got all edited to hell it was 125 RON/119 MON which makes more sense. We have actually picked up power on engines that dont run knock control switching from Q16 (117 MON) to E100. The only way that is possible is its the same or higher octane.

There is an article that was written when these numbers were still around but its weird when I quote myself so I will leave it at that. Going with R+M/2 numbers-

E70 is 112 +/-
E85 is 117 +/-
E100 is 122 +/-

Aaron

I am running at 444 awhp with 0 knock on 93 octane with stock rods. Torque is kept to <400 awtq. I've run 2 seasons of road racing with the power just over 400 awhp and its been excellent. It's all in the tune really.
