Building my Block Need Advice
Building my Block Need Advice
Yesterday, I had a bad night and one of my pistons died on me
Looks like it is time to build the block
The #4 cylinder wall was damaged a little bit and it looks like it won't be gone even if I bore the block 1mm
Therefore, I will need to get the Darton Dry Sleeves. (I am overseas and can't get an empty block here so please do not suggest me on getting another block)
My goal is to have an engine that can run 600whp w/o any issues
1. What CR should I go with?? I was thinking getting a 9.5CR with a Cosworth HG
2. I was planning on getting 85.5mm pistons but someone told me not to since it won't match the head. If it won't be a problem, then I will consider the 85.5mm ones to stroke the engine to 2.1lt
3. I will list the part that I am planning to get. If you have any suggestions other than the ones I list, please do so...
Here is the setup I have in mind:
Darton Dry Sleeves
CP 85mm 9.5 CR Pistons (for long rods)
Carrillo 156mm H-Beam Rods

You are wasting your money sleeving a 4G63. By the time you buy the sleeves and pay the machine shop to install them you could have gotten a different block.
Whoever your friends are I would find better friends! Nothing wrong with going to 85.5mm.

The thing is I am overseas and cannot find a block here
Importing one is also too expensive
If I can locate one, I will get it
As for the 85.5mm, if there are no problems with it, I'd definitely do it

I was considering these: (will decide between 9.5 cr or 10.5 cr)
