I'm on the edge about these 3 turbos at the moment, but i'm not 100% sure what will suit me for my use of the car.

1. 73HTA
2. BBK FULL PORTED
3. MAP EF2

This isn't my first rodeo with the evo, but it will be my Last. I've searched over and over and over again on this forum trying to find the answers i need but i can't seem to put down the final answer... Please help

Here's what I'm Stuck with at the Moment:
2004 Evo 8 SSL 120,XXX
Factory 2.0L Block (10w-30 Z-Rod)
Factory Transfer Case (Diaqueen)
Factory Rear Differential (Diaqueen)
Factory Evo VIII Head with (Kelford 272 i/e & Supertech Valve springs/retainers)
Shep 5 Speed (Redline MT90)
Exedy HD Twin Disc (STM Clutch Fork Stop)
ARP L19 H11 Studs
Sparktech COP (NGK BPR8ES)
ETS 3.5" Intercooler
ETS LICP
ETS UICP with Tial Q BOV
Speed Density

Grimspeed ECU Controled Boost Controller
ETS T3 GT3586R Dual Ball Bearing w/ Tial 38mm WG
JMF "Drag" Intake Manifold
Buschur Double Pumper
PTE 1000cc Injectors

Everything in BOLD is what is staying on it, Everything UNDERLINED is being taken off.

This is what the Underlined is being Replaced with
Turbo = ? ? ?
Intake Manifold = Factory (non ported)
Fuel Pump = Stock Fuel Pump Assembly w/ a single Walbro 255
Injectors = FIC 1100 High Impedance Injectors
Fuel Rail = FIC Fuel Rail
Fuel Pressure Regulator = AEM Fuel Pressure Regulator
Turbo Manifold = OEM Ported
Downpipe = Map 02 Dump.

Use: Daily Driver, Vacation taker... etc. Possibly a few time laps on track day.
Not used for: 1/4 or 1/8 Dragstrip. Autocross.

Idea: I don't Want nor Need 500-1000hp, I'd like to get about 400whp/380ft-lbs tq

I'm staying with Pump 93 Octane. I won't be doing E85 for the Location of E85 in my area is far and few.

Thanks in Advance for any Good Advice is Greatly Appreciated.
Please keep bashing and hatred to a minimal.

You will be more than happy with the Tomei M7960

An M7960.....? is it April Fools already. Stick with a 73 HTA. I really think you should go with FP. And you should do a little more research on BB center sections is the way to go.

Please don't. You should help clear the air on the posts that are putting down misinformation. How are we supposed to learn and clear turbo misconceptions? A respected shop posts something vs. some random dude out in BFE, I'll listen to the shop way before I'll listen to some arm chair racer.

When people that know the platform, parts and tuning leave what are we left with?

First, it is an established and widely accepted fact that ball bearing center sections in general afford improved longevity in comparison to journal bearing center sections in turbochargers. Improved longevity results in improved reliability and reduced repair intervals. Are you arguing against this?

Likewise, turbocharger spool-up, rate of spool, and transient response. All else remaining equal, a ball bearing fitted turbocharger will out spool, have a quicker rate of spool, and improved transient response characteristics in comparison to the same turbocharger fitted with journal bearings. Are you not in agreement with this statement?

The CBRD BBK turbo in journal bearing form has proven to be an exceptionally durable and dependable turbocharger. Most CBRD customers purchase the BBK in its original JB format. However, if you should happen to want it even quicker spooling and longer lasting, then CBRD will fit the BBK with a ball bearing center section.
agreed...To the OP...Since you want a faster spool than stock IX...all of the turbos you listed you will NOT achieve a "faster" spool...they are good turbos but will not spool faster...did you check out the HKS GII 7460R BB turbo? That one WILL spool faster than stock and give you the power you need...
