How to plug piston oil squirter holes.

Wondering what everyone is using to plug the oil squirted holes. After having one break and end up in the pan plus breaking 2 more trying to replace it, I'm done messing with them. I don't have a welder and I'm doing this under the car with the crank still installed. I was thinking about SS hex plugs or a bolt if the head sits flush with red thread sealant or JB Weld but still like to know others methods.

It's a metric straight thread hole.

I would run a crush washer with a metric bolt... and some red loctite after brake cleaning the crap out of it.

Would 30 ft/lbs on the bolts be a good number to go for or should factory torque be applied?

factory torque should be fine.

I would try peening the head of the bolt...

or if your engine came out I would just re-tap for a plug OR use the 4g64 block.

The oil squirters should not be breaking off unless you're smacking them with your skirt of your piston or your crankshaft. You have to check clearances on these things otherwise you'll have this same issue.

I had to bend the tubes to keep them from hitting the skirts with the 100mm crank, put about 700 miles on the engine before one broke and I'm sure it was from vibration as I can snap the tube off with my hands. I would like to keep the squirters but I don't want to drop the pan again if another one breaks.

make sure they clear the piston as well as the crank.
