clutch problem??

I have a stage 2 ACT clutch in my evo 8, I live in Canada and soon as it got colder out its getting alot harder to get it into gears, out of gears.. Would this be my release barring? or linkage issues? or just needs a clutch? Because the clutch peddle feels the same still as when it was warm out without any problems.

I have the ACT HDSS and I have a simliar issue, I think its just that the ACT clutch in the Evo is not a good match, I will be switching to Comp soon.

The ACT clutch is an excellent clutch... I'm guessing the hard gearing could be because of the colder weather, colder oil transmission, therefore rougher shifts. Have you tried getting your transmission oil warmer (moderate speed on highway) and then check the difference? This happens to me on the stock clutch, but once the transmission gets warmer, everything is done for me.

ACT clutches are not excellent clutches for Evos, lockout issues are rampant among the community, not to mention my tob is loud and I don't think it works properly. I have adjusted my clutch pedal, bled my slave, change transmission oils several times.

I have never had any issues(lockout, etc.) with act clutches. In my evo 9 i first had the hdss, then i got a xtss. Currently in my 8 i have a hdss.

If its only hard to shift when the car is cold, and the fact that it is getting harder to shift with the colder weather is pretty much saying the fluid is causing it. Try a lighter weight tranny oil. Also remove the restrictor pill in the slave cylinder...

Car transmission takes alot longer to warm up during cold climate, it takes time... This is causing the issue not with the clutch imo. ACT, EXEDY & COMP makes great clutches with machined flywheels. I also would like to know what these mean, as I'm new here & please mention any others that are put in a short way... For example FMIC = Front Mount Intercooler?

I am very pumped for the rebuild and new clutch. It's honestly probably not a cluth issue if its temp related, I switch back to the diaqueen hoping that would help with cold shifting, sadly it did not. Was considering using the synchromesh cocktail but I heard that it doesn't offer the protection needed for our transmissions due to how light the oil is.

ACT can be a pain to shift, get a better fluid, get a shifter kit and adjust the pedal correctly and it will help.
