Comp Turbo Evo Drop-In Turbos
I E-Mailed Comp turbo about the possibility of them having a "stock frame" turbo for my 8. Their Director of Sales sent this back:
So, for those of you that are looking for a stock frame turbo, but can't justify spending $2500 for an FP, wait a couple of weeks
"Brian,
We are in the process of making drop in units for the Evo 8. We should have some ready in about 12-16 weeks.

My nephew has a t3/t4 50 trim Comp turbo with a 3" inlet, on his mr2. Hes about 350 ish hp at 20 psi. I forgot how much he paid for it though, but its was definately less than what our aftermarket stock frame turbos run. Everything Evo is more expensive than in mr2 land though, haha. Its been working really well on the car. For a budget minded setup Comp turbos seems decent.

Not many people like them, because they think it's "cheap" but I haven't heard anything but good reviews on them. They even have Triple Ceramic Ball Bearing turbo's that are probably right around the same price as a DBB FP/BBK or Garrett.
I'm willing to give it a try, I'm not looking for insane amounts of power, so I'll probably stick with Journal Bearing. Just thought I'd throw that out there for anyone looking to try a new stock frame turbo.

Oh, and just an FYI, I replied back to that email asking about prices, and some basic specs on it. They might just be in the R&D part of it, so I don't expect too much. I'll update with the info when I get it (probably business hours tomorrow)

I'm hoping it is around the same price as their other small frame turbos $600/700 mark. Like I said, I'll update this thread with some specs and prices if he replies back tomorrow

Doesn't PTE offer stock frame housing? I thought I saw the option to have a Mitsubishi .63 AR divided housing (Evo flanged?) on STM's website. It was $1600 I think. I know DSM flanges are different but what made me wonder was the word "divided".
