With the current GT35R we are using it spools just fine between shifts. So it will make a great turbo for both street and drag. As long as the turbo spools between shifts then you are good to go.

other than the autronic PNP board did you guys need anything else to get the car working or to tune it etc...?in other words..did you have to purchase anything else to go along with the ecu to get it to work properly?

We didn't need anything else to install the PnP board. Just run a couple wires and vaccum line.

We would have more dyno numbers, but we ran into a couple problems that were solved with T-Bolt clamps. This Sat will be more dyno numbers. Hopefully 550whp won't be a problem. Then it's off to the track.

Re: rmr

The idle was higher than we wanted and was evaluated only when we were at normal engine operating temperature. The program comes with an idle and startup information and it fired right up on the first try With the cams, there was a slight lope and it was expected and quite welcomed.

There were NO cold start issues. It fired up like stock. Without any tuning whatsoever!

I really like the Autronic. I have experience and own the following aftermarket systems: MoTeC, SpeedPro (FAST), LS1-Edit and Accel DFI.

Here are some observations about the Autronic:

1) Fully Windows 2000 complient. ON-LINE real-time tuning with no glitching or dropouts. This makes Autotap look like ****!

2) On-ECU logging functions.

3) Strip chart functions for datalogging. Auto-tune with wide-band. Complete wide-band control in all load ranges(you tell the ECU what A/F ratio to target).

4) Controls stock wastegate or aftermarket types.

5) Anti-lag can be enabled and fully programmable= shoots 3 foot flames out the back under decel

6) Retains alarm conditions and can be erased and/or tracked during data logging.

7) On-board MAP sensor on ECU detects boost and controls (resolution) up to 44 psi of boost.

8) The Autronic ECU replaces the stock ECU internals (no exchange you keep your stock one)...the entire install looks stock!!!

Yes, it was on a EVO 8. CChow has many different cars, but he is talking about the EVO.

I forgot to add that the Autronic for the EVO8 is BOTH wide band and narrow band compatible. It's fully configurable in the software they provide. When you plug-in the Autronic, it uses all existing stock sensors including the stock narrow-band oxy sensor.

Added benefit after installation of the Autronic for EVO8's:
Throw away your stock MAF (or save it for later). This opens up many possibilities including running NO filter in front of the turbo (if you so desire). And you can remove the cat and run an open dump pipe... of course for off-road applications.

low end power is for grama
Agree 100%

It would be nice to have a full powerband of HP but thats what shifting is for.

Are you guys really speeding at all times? When I am not racing I am driving at around 2000-3000 rpms and I only need about 100hp for that. When I am racing I launch PROPERLY, so I am never out of my turbo range.

I would like more information on the turbo kit.

RNR, are those dyno charts on Shootout mode? Can you post a scan of the entire dyno sheet so we can see?

The dyno sheets are NOT on shootout mode. Shoot mode I believe measures crank HP. This car is making this power at all 4 wheels.

I had to crop the sheet so it wouldn't be to big for this site.

What more info on the turbo kit do you want? Basically a bolt-on dual ball bearing 500whp turbo kit for around $3,000

Field Test Results

The EVO8 is now officially a Corvette Z06 killer. Mine and someone that owns a black Z06 in Bay Area, Cali.

We ran without the kit RnR turbo kit, the EVO8 would kill me out of the hole. By 60 mph I would pull on him and pass him like a freight train.

Now, I can't even catch up to him. My Z06 does 12.2 at 117 in the 1/4mile. On the street my Z06 probably does consistant mid 12's with drag radials.

I made 378 rear wheel HP in my Z06 that's equipped with long tube headers, Ls-1 edit, no cats and cold air system. I'm really impressed by how the EVO motor is taking to the mods. Now, to get a dyno run and get to the track for some real numbers.
