i guess people in this thread never had the ***** to push stock blocks/setups to the limit
i made 501HP on my stock 2.0 and BR cams, the lag isnt bad at all, i really love this turbo
i am def not afraid to push the motor, becuz before i bought it the car had never had nething done to it besides a boost controller and exhaust. I'm just tryin to figure out this boost creep shi**

I will be installing a FP black on my 2005 evo 8, it is ported and with the 25psi WGA. I plan on running 25 psi for now and most likely take it up to 27 psi, I still have the stock block and will be installing ARPs with head gasket.
Did you check the preload on the WGA? I check mine and it was set basically to 6 half turns. Also what are you using to control boost, stock boost lines? Check the lines.
You might want to consider porting the flapper holes, I check mine and FP does not port those holes. Where are you getting the boost source?

I had one on the dyno today that made 457whp at 29psi (pumpgas) and I could run the boost as low as 22psi at 8k. It would hit 18 by 4k and only slowly creep to redline, to be honest I had expected it to creep but the dump left this one alone for some reason. This one was an Evo IX but since I have seen creep issues on both VIIIs and IXs I rule that out as mattering. The dump we installed was a Muse in case anyone is keeping track.

Lag is overrated.
If Aaron is ok with a black and stock block thats good enough for me. If any of you critics have the experience and track record ER has then I'd listen to your informed opinion

I have a 2.0l 10:1 with NO issues with lag at all. I have a megan 02 housing and no boost creep. I am switching to a toxicfab manifold and O2 dump. But the FP Black and it's an awesome turbo for about any motor. the 2.3's make the black shine but they work great on the 2.0's

100% True. The torque is what destroys the stock rods. you can make 600whp as long as you keep the torque low. which you need a bigger turbo to make that happen.Originally Posted by ReignMan24
i dnt plan on making need the power he is, i got the fp black for a reason. its a safe stock 2.0 turbo. 400hp?? is about the max...i think u mean torque. but ur rite, im not gonna argue with u either, but thats for ur input
when I was on the stock turbo, I make 384whp and 412tq at 30psi on 93oct. It lasted YEARS! It never popped but I can't say that it wasn't in the back of my mind.

I have the fp black ran 30psi last year at 44o whp and this year 27psi 489 whp, I havent had any boost creep issues. I run a epm o2 dump and grimmspeed ebcs.
update to this, turned out to be a tuning issue, i switched back to tscomp and havent had ne boost creep issues
