difference between 8-9 turbos

I'm interested if 8 and 9 CHRA's are the same? if not, what's the difference, blade size/diameter ?

the point of the question is, can one fit 9 cold side on 8 turbo ?

as I've understand turbine/compressor wheels are all the same
but in the end of thread couldn't figure out for sure if the CHRA compressor side backplates are the same to bolt up correctly on both compressor covers

Yeah, as you state the comp backing plate/diffuser is different on VIII'S vs IX's. The question be whether the center housing is cut differently to accept the different backing plate.
