Greddy LS Spec IC Kit Evo 8 - 9 differences

I am looking at buying the Greddy LS Spec IC kit. Only issue I am having is there is two separate kits for evo 8 and 9.

Whats the difference?

I ask because I have a 8 with a 9 turbo.

I would assume that the end tanks for the 9 would be wider, similar to the ETS version of the 8 and 9 intercoolers they offer.

likely what slowsrt4 said. If you pick one of these up post up some pics of the internal fin designs inside the core, and some installed pics. You dont see too many of these intercoolers out there.

The reason why ETS made two different intercoolers was because of the difference of the 8 bumper to 9 bumper. The 8 bumper has a wider opening while the 9 bumper has smaller opening. So they designed the end tanks for the 8 to smaller because they could fit a bigger intercooler core.

I received the kit today. I am a little concerned as i probably should have elaborated the kit includes both hot and cold side piping , with the hot side connecting directly to the turbo. I am planning on upgrading the turbo from stock 8 turbo to a 9 when i install the ic kit.

Should i be worried about fitting the evo 8 kit to the evo 9 turbo?

That will be the same. The outlet pipe off the turbo is different but the geometry change isnt enough to require a specific pipe.

Old post but anyway. The outlet for the turbo that came with the kit did unfortunately hit my starter motor.

The rest of the kit was fine though.
