Oil filter housing fitment

Will an oil filter housing off an Evo 7-9 fit on an Evo 4? It has come to my attention that the oil cooler lines may have a different thread size, but am told it should bolt right onto the engine otherwise. Can anyone confirm or deny? and if it is possible with very little modification, let me know as well.

thanks

Correct, exactly the same fitment wise apart from oil cooler inlet/outlet ports.

Evo4-5 are m16, evo6+ are m18. Not much of an issue if you were running AN fitting lines, but a pain if you are on stock lines as you have to change the whole oil cooler setup.

If you have a 4 chassis and run a 6 engine the oil cooler setup is a huge pain. The oil cooler is bigger and placed differently on the 6. I have to make a bracket to mount the 6 oil cooler and had to cut the alignment pins off both sides of the lines to make it work correctly.

I would suggest using the 4 oil filter housing and 4 oil cooler.
