Unhappy Need help - Walbro install

Hey Evom,

I just replaced my stock fuel pump with a Walbro 255 according to the tutorial on the Evomoto website. Got the pump installed and now the car won't start. It cranks and cranks but won't roll over.

So for troubleshooting purposes, I took it out and re-installed the stocker and sure enough it wouldn't start still.

So I took it back out and double checked everything that other people were having issues with (made sure the top grommet wasn't squished from pushing the pump in too hard, made sure the black o-ring on the sending unit was in place, and wiggled/tightened all the connections on the outside of the housing unit)

After eliminating these things I put the Walbro back in and tried again. Still no luck. I can hear the pump turn on and off. I am running out of ideas at this point.

Please help me!

I hear them clicking while trying to start the car but I am not sure how to test them manually. I saw in the "X" section that people are able to switch the fuel pump relay with a headlight relay to test them but am not sure if it is OK to do this on mine?

ya you can switch relays around just as long as there the same relay and the relay dosnt have to do with starting or running the engine.

Not trying to be a smart ***, but do you have all the fuel lines connected??? If not, your cars gonna smell pretty good for awhile haha.

OK, I'm going to test the relays in a minute. Also, just for ****s and giggles I went and hooked up evoscan and manually activated the fuel pump actuator and it worked. I heard the fuel pump turn on so I think it is just an issue with either pressure/air lock or the relays. And yes, I do have all the connections made. I didn't mess with anything but the fuel pump/assembly and everything is hooked up the way it was before I touched it.

Relays are good.

I saw on here that somebody recommended to disconnect the return hose and crank it until pure fuel is coming out. I am thinking about trying this when I get a second hand to help. Other than that I am stumped...

Well, fuel seems to be leaving the pump as there is fuel in both the "quick disconnect" outgoing hoses when I disconnect them from the outside of the pump assembly. Any other ideas out there?

I checked the return hose on the assembly and it is bone dry. How could the supply hoses have fuel in them but nothing in the return hose?? I checked for leaks and didn't find anything. I don't smell fuel either and I'm in a small closed garage.

If there is no fuel coming in from the return, them its pretty obvious that fuel isnt leaving the tank.
Is the pump priming at key on?

Look at the clip at the bottom right of my picture below. If you removed this I bet you did not install the rubber grommet correctly. Remove the seal again and attach to the inserted portion first before inserting. If this grommet is not sealing then you won't get fuel pressure and the car won't start.

So i took it back out and checked the rubber grommet on the fuel sender again and made sure it is in flush. Now there is fuel going all the way through. i unplugged the connection on top the assembly and there is pressurized fuel in all the lines and at the return line on the fuel rail as well. I cant figure out why this thing still wont start! i hear the pump priming and running while cranking the motor.

Update: I ended up pulling the spark plugs a second time and now they are wet with fuel. I think now that there is pressure throughout the system, I may have flooded the engine due to pumping the gas pedal too many times while trying to start it. I guess i shouldn't have done that...: / Either way I am letting the car sit over night and I'll try to start it again tomorrow. *Crossing my fingers*

Well car still wouldn't start after letting it dry out. I guess I will try and pull the injector relay to see if it starts. Also am thinking about trying my new spark plugs but don't want to ruin them lol. I can clearly see there is fuel wetting the cylinders through the spark plug towers so I know there is fuel making it there. It is also making it all the way back to the return line at the pump assembly. I can't understand why it won't start. It was fine before I changed the pump and I didn't mess with anything else at all...
