XEDE = Obsolete?

Hey everyone,
Again, in the midst of undoing a lot of ghetto fabulous modifications to this RS I found a Vishnu XEDE piggy back system which I had to remove. I went and looked in the Vishnu forum and the last post was late 2008 so I figured this might be a better outlet to check on this.

I'm guessing this thing is completely obsolete now? I don't see any purpose in it when there is ECU Flash other than switching maps, however they still sell the thing on their website. I don't see anyone else selling them however.

So is this a big paperweight or is it something I should hang on to that may serve a purpose I can't predict? Or worth putting on ebay if not?

Tangent: Reason for removal was occasionally I would get P0102 and MAF would drop to 0 Hz on data list but at sensor would read normally; isolated the XEDE and its red light self and the problem went away. I read that this requires a reflash of the map, but I don't have the capability or interest in doing that.
Thanks

That's what I was figuring on, as the only thing I could grasp of it was the dual map function. But for some reason the previous owner bought this, I don't see what other benefit it could possibly serve (and I assume is why the forum is dead).

I had an Xede back in the day. when the was first released here in the US you had your choice of the very expensive ECUTec reflash, or piggyback units like the Xede.

As far as piggyback units go, the Xede is pretty damn good. Now it's a paper weight.

My car had an XEDE on it when I got it. I tried to contact Vishnu, but they no longer support the XEDE. The last active thread was probably from me, back when I had recently bought my car and was trying to get info.

Regardless, like the other guys said - ditch it and get an ECU tune. The XEDE is 10 year old technology.

Ya ya, I hear you. I'll likely get a tactrix, maybe contact mellon. My wideband (I'll be swapping from another car when I switch DDs) is an autometer though which doesn't appear to be usable for logging if I am reading correctly.... so it will have to wait until I get an aego or something else. I've had terrible experiences with Innovate products which is why I'm on autometer now (trouble free).

If you end up selling your XEDE on Ebay, let me know how much it goes for.

Mine is sitting in my garage collecting dust - I can't imagine anyone would buy it.

I'll probably list it this weekend... auction listing is most likely the best bet.

In the meantime I just popped it on craiglist for $200 lol. You never know.

Real.

Have you dealt with some of the people that buy stuff on craigslist? It makes you glad to pay ebays 15% tax to not have to deal with them. I dread using CL, but I often have success unloading useless junk no one will buy on ebay lol.
