Shep Trans Tranny fluid

So I’ve done some reading but didn't really come up with agood answer. What fluid should I use in my shep trans? I talked to shep and he didn’treally give me a decisive answer. One of the fluids he suggested was Redlinemt90. I’ve used the redline cocktail in several cars in the past and it seemedto work really well. Should I go with the cocktail again or use the mt90 likeshep recommended. What about the t-case? Diaqueen or another redline product? Thanks for your suggestions.

You should use what your builder, Shep, recommends, He knows his trans best......

What gear oil should I use?
There are several gear oils that will work depending on horsepower or intended use. For most transmissions we recommend Redline MT90 or Pennzoil Synchromesh. For drag use or high horsepower cars please contact us. Please let us know if you need any Redline gear oil.

directly from their website. so either above would work

FYI, I have a Shep Trans (stage3 or whatever it is....) and making about 700ftlbs of torque. He told me over the phone to use nothing but Redline Lightweight Shockproof fluid, and that's all I've used since he built it for me. So far, no problems.

I plan this time around to going with just MT90 in my trans. After reading about shockproof in transmissions (further than just what was posted on here about using shockproof in the transmission) I'm a little scared to use it again. My trans is at Shep right now getting refreshed, so once I get it back Ill only be doing MT90.

i would look into the 75w110 if i were you. it'll protect your gears better then the stuff you posted. gears cost more to replace then synchros.

Shep endorses AMSOIL as long as the correct gear lube is used.

hes going to say the transmission fluid. that wont protect the gears past 600WHP~ though. you need something more severe, like the severe gear. But its your call. the regular trans fluid will protect the synchros better, but not the gears, so you cant win really when making really high HP/TQ.

Tom is right regarding the fluid.

I run the Amsoil Severe gear 75w110 in my trans as well. Although its not built by shep, its still an Evo transmission. It shifts perfect and should protect it very nicely when racing.

T-case I use amsoil severe 75w90.
