GSC S3 and stock motor?

Currently i have hks 280's in my car and i want to upgrade to gsc cams. I plan on eventually going with a 2.4lr in the near future but for the time being i will be running the stocker. How bad would the s3's be on the street with my 6262 and stock block? is it even possible to run them with the stock motor? i have manley springs and retainers in the car right now. Or would i be better off going with the s2's for now and then eventually getting the s3's later down the road? all my mods are in my sig.

I don't think it's possible to run the S3's on a stock motor.

Stock motor, I would go with S2's.

I don't see a problem at all with the s3's. I'm running them in a non-ported, supertech dual spring/retainer head. Yes, I have a 2.3, but that doesn't necessarily help me to run s3's. Your concern should be towards your bottom end, and only because the power of s3's and a 6262 will eventually do destruction on that block.

You can run s3's on the stock engine with springs just fine.

this guys correct. nothing is special about s3 cams. just make sure you run good springs & retainers.

Since you are doing a 2.4l in the future, why do you not just hold off on cams and then get the new R2 cams?
