Turbo swap

So I'm looking into swapping out my 8 turbo for either a pt5858 or 6262. What exactly is needed to complete this job? I don't want to do a forward facing turbo since this is my current daily. I would like to be in the 400hp range on 91 pump gas, would go e85 if it was available in my area of Cali in case you were wondering haha.

Current mods:
Fic 1050's
Kelford 272's
Walboro 255
Ets licp
Short route uicp w/ synapse DV
built evo 8 head with super tech and gsc parts
AEM short ram air intake
Turbo back exhaust catless DP

Note:
I do still need to order and 02 housing and intercooler.

Any help with what parts are needed to do this job will be appreciated. Thanks

You should probably look around a bit..Unless your bottom end is built, and the turbo and setup would be worth the cost, i would get a stock replacement. An FP green would get you over 400 pretty easily.

Of course I'm going to sound biased but a Green would work really well with that setup and see no reason why you couldn't easily squeeze 400WHP out of 91. If you have a 10.5 hotside on your stocker I can upgrade it for about $1200 or so with all the bells and whistles. Brand new I sell journal bearing Greens for $1695 and it doesn't require changing anything on your current setup.

But to answer your question about what it would take to swap to turbo like that.

Manifold

O2 housing

Oil line

Oil return - Flange may be the same but length and size may need to be changed.

Intake - May just need a coupler.

6262 is good for 600-700+, take a look at dyno sheets for stock frame (fp) turbos if you want 400s

Haha I'm still a noob when it comes to evo's and forced induction (haha I'm used to n/a GM Ls motors) If I'm correct the 05's have the 10.5 hot side? And also if I go with an FP, which I might to save me from a future headache. What are the benifits of the green compared to Like a PT5858?

No problem man. Those stock location setups are probably the best. You don't really have to change anything LOL. It's a little pricey, but it is a GTX series so it's pretty badass and can flow enough to support 400whp on 91. BTW, where you located in Cali?

I would definitely look into an FP turbo. Lots of happy people using them with great power too. Also with those other bigger turbos, expect LOTS of turbo lag.

Why not just keep your stock turbo if it has a 10.5 hotside? Should be easy with those mods and Have tscomp tune it. E85 would help as well but you can prob make that on pump, but being our in cali you could do pump and meth.

Yeah if I don't go with an FP turbo ill be looking into a few standard location setups. I'll definitely have to look into those gtx turbos. N I'm located bout 45 mins south of San Jose.

I feel ya, I've read a lot of good reviews on them. N I started second guessing something as big as the 6262. I was watching YouTube videos with that turbo n got all antsy about wanting more power haha.

Well like I said I'm a noob with turbos still lol. So with having a 10.5 hotside what could be done to it? I mean I know it could be rebuilt, but what is done to it? And yeah e85 is outta the question. Neatest station is 50+ miles away I think. N as for a meth kit? What kit would you recommend?

Port the hotside, port the manifolds, get yourself a set of cams, injectors, 3" intake pipe, exhaust and good tune. So with all that said you have just about all of that minus a few things. O2 housing will help with a new fmic as well.
