Very bizzare issue

Ok this just randomly started happening.... it feels as forceful as fuel cut, it first happened in 2nd gear about 5k. It bangs and pops like a **** then the revs and idle needle go mad......the rev needle literally drops to the bottom of the dial as if you've switched it off but it doesn't cut out and no lights flicker or come on, then the revs are up and down and the throttle makes no difference at all, it seems to take on a mind of its own an it jus does its own thing.....at first It seemed to be if I nail first then go in second but now it does it in neutral off boost too. It sounds like full anti lag, Sounds great but defo not rite.
All this lasts anywhere from 5-15 seconds and then it jus sits there purring like nothing's happened and the throttle starts controlling it again!!

Please help as I'm totally stumped and can't find any info anywhere.

It sounds like you may have multiple things going on here. The first thing I would do is check all the couplers on intake/IC piping to make sure none are loose or off completely. I just had similar symptoms after a intake coupler decided to wiggle off the IC.

If you don't mind update your profile or list some details about your car. It could be anything from lack of fuel, to throttle body seals, to a bad MBC, to a pre-existing poor tune... update with more details and report back.
