PLEASE HELP! my evo wont rev!

So I'm driving my car today after getting it from the mechanic fixing a coolant leakage so they replaced my radiator with a smaller one due to the engine smacking the radiator and downpipe being cracked. As i engage the first gear release clutch and gas while crusing at 5-10mph holding the gas down (and not flooring) the car wouldn't rev and rpm drops and you wouldnt hear the exhaust or the engine for a brief half a second to a second. This would happen on 2nd 3rd and 4th gear and I never took it to 5th gear, after that brief second or so the car automatically turns back on and revs up and go like nothing happened. It would do it every 5 seconds or so. This doesn't happen when idling only when gear is engaged. the stick doesn't pop out of gear and my 'service engine' light is on. I assume it was the injectors and when i listen to the injectors with a screw driver, the injectors seems to click just fine. PLEASE HELP!

My two guess' are that your clutch is slipping, or could be a problem with the ecu...

Get the code ran by and you will find your problem.

Check for check engine light codes. Get a pocket obd scanner then let us know what the codes are. Honestly I think its your maf sensor its notorious for causing some issues here and there make sure its plugged back up if your mechanic changed the radiator he probably left it un-plugged.

The MAF has the air filter attached to it. there is a plug that is black that could be loose or maybe not attached if work was recently done to it. Drivers side front, right by the headlightish area.

i believe 1 goes to the boost control solenoid thats mounted to the frame under the intake filter.
the other goes to the MAF, the circular black box with a square top and an inlet for a plug.

this is assuming the car is stock and not modified for speed density.
just look for whatever isnt plugged in and match the plugs up...

This happen to me before.

1. Check MAF sensor to see if its tight on your intake
2. Check for intercool pipe (Might have pop out)
3. Check for CEL, if there's CEL, scan it.

Problem is fixed! The MAF sensor was loose. I found this out yesterday after a few people telling me so on this forum and thanks! The MAF sensor was loose so I had it tightened, with being I live in a one with a single driveway so I was blocked in. I didn't get to test it out until the following morning which was today. Drove the car for 20 mins and WALLAHHH!!! runs mint! thanks alot for the help fellas.
