Depending on where you go, what labor guide they use, and how much their labor rate is its roughly 9.3 in labor. So if you are at a shop that charges $100 an hour, you're looking at $930 in just labor as an example.

For Whatever Its Worth, I have an Exedy clutch and Act Lightweight street flywheel in my evo. The clutch is the equivalent of 25-45lbs calve raises and extremely sensitive. Its a pain on hills and it sucks going into first. Its very grabby, and very heavy. Lets put it this way, You don't want to be stuck in traffic with it. For a full face disk I didn't think it would be so stiff.

You can get away with a "lightened" flywheel, but I would say stay away from anything ultra-light or feather light in any AWD car.

My Wrx has a stiff clutch, anytime I go out of one car and into the other I have to relearn how to drive it again. As much as the evo clutch can be a pain in the ***, I still love it.

+1^

My previous setup was a 6 puck competition clutch with a act streetlite. It was great if you were doing any track racing but daily driven? It lasted less than 20k miles. Worst/best day of my life was when I bought the car. Drove straight through San Francisco. Hit every red light.

I still have a lightened flywheel (new oem flywheel was $$$). It still daily drive my car everywhere. Its annoying but manageable. Full disk only, stay away from pucked clutches.

Im running the Exedy stage 1 as well. I love the clutch but as trubo pointed out, it is very grabby and the engagement window is small, takes getting used to, but is fun once you get the hang of it.

Ive had an Exedy Stage 1 with the Exedy flywheel and I liked it enough to put another one in my car.
I wanted to try the ACT HDSS next, but I got a deal on the Exedy.
The Exedy grabs quick and it stiffer than the stock clutch, but you will get used to it.
People tell me its the closest thing you can get to the stock clutch.
I cant vouch for this since I havent tried any other clutch besides the stock one, but Exedy also makes the stock clutch for the Lancer Evolution.

I would agree, the best way to describe it would be to say it has a "short" engagement window. There is a fine line between stall and burning the clutch, and in the gray area you are going into first ha-ha!

It is fun once you get used to it. It certainly grabs hard if you go through the gears.
