R2 is recommended for a stroker motor, judging by your sig mods you should be able to pick up some nice gains!

2.4 with some good headwork will definitely benefit from the R2 set. What results were you looking for specifically, back to back or just a 2.4 with R2s?

Back to back would be awesome... I saw the thread you guys did a while back but it was on a Evo 9 if I remember correctly.. its hard to find any review on these cams for the Evo 8 I guess cuz they are so new...

Just drove my stock 2L Evo 9 with newly installed R2's, FP Black and Speed Density for the first time last night since the install. Sound wise I can hardly hear a difference from OEM, maybe slightly lumpier. Just have a base SD tune from Tom at TSComp at this point, no tuning done, but the car already feels smoother. As far as I can tell the R2's work fine on a stock 2L motor, I do have some mild port work on the head and 5041 springs/retainers and new GSC valve stem seals, we will see how things go when I get the car tuned. Not sure if there are any benefits going with the R2's over say S2's, but I'm sure their not going to hurt the power output, Mr TSComp doesn't think so anyway. Cheers

That's almost the same exact words that were used to describe the R2s from another member

R2s in an VIII are a slightly smoother (I use this loosely) version of the S3 as far as idle. They havent seemed to hurt spool much, just pick up power out the top. On a stock head and FP Red we found 25whp (thru an Auto) on that 2.0L IX over S2s so if I had to wager I'd think a mildly worked head would see another 10. Converting back to 5 speed that would put it in the 40s.
