Price for an evo 9 mr six speed transmission

I am the owner of a six speed Evo 9 MR, how much would it be to purchase a stock six speed for my car?

On ebay they go for about 1200 shipped. If you can find one locally or on the forums for less go ahead, but more than likely its been abused and swapped with a 5 speed

Thanks guys, i am actually converting my car to a sheptrans stage five speed with billet outputshaft and REM gear treating. the six speed is better for daily driving but lauching an evo with a six speed is dangerous, especially when my power is over 450. Now i have a six speed to sell hahaha

I just went with a TRE 6 Speed. You may want to check into having him build yours as an option. I was considering the same thing, but like the smoothness of my 6 speed.

Never mind i looked into TRE. I plan to make more than 400 ft/lb of torque, however i am now going with a TRE stage three five speed rebuild, or maybe a stage four when the details are released.I decided to find a five speed core and send it to TRE instead of just out right purchasing a new five speed. Thank you for the awesome recommendation.

I have an mr. Bought it new... I hated having to swap to the 5spd... During this last build i pulled it all apart and put in a 4.0 final drive... Now i have 5 gears but it cruises like a 6... I'm much much happier... But if i get the chance i want a shep 6spd... Just to be different

On TRE's website there is a stage four five speed tab but you can not click on it, does anyone know anything about this service such as price and the included materials. I think it might not be available yet but if anyone has details that would be great.

Launching a 6 speed isn't the problem. 1st and 2nd gear on the 6 speed are actually thicker than on the 5 speed. The issue is 3-4 and 5. 4th seems to be the biggest issue historically. Also, there is only 2.3 quarts of fluid with the 6 speed...so it runs hotter than the 5 speed. Look at all the cooling fins on the 6 speed tranny housing. They knew heat would be an issue.

Luckily, I picked up the last upgraded gear set from Shep. It was hiding in their storage shed

So far so good. Just breaking it in as Jon recommended but so far its smooth man i love it. I will be able to see how it holds up with a little power after my tune tomorrow and a little more usage

That is one thing I miss about the 6speed is the smoothness. The 5 I have gets pretty smooth after warm up though so I'm okay for now. Glad to hear everything is good man! Thanks again
