Getting oil on my windshield

So I havent put many miles on my evo since driving it, and I wash it a lot whenever I do so I never noticed this before.

After maybe 400 miles there is a distinct oil spray mark on my passenger side windshield.

I noticed some oil on the front of my valve cover as well but just a few small spots that acquire after some miles.

Any ideas?

I can take a pic if needed

Sounds like a popped out dip stick. Put a hold down spring on it or zip tie it so it doesn't happen again.

ill go check...

well the dipstick was sealed and seated quite well

and there is oil on the front of the valve cover which leads me to believe there is oil seeping from somewhere up front

Sounds like blowby. I would wipe everything down in the engine. Go for a drive and pull over, check to see where the oil is coming from.

You might need an oil catch can or a proper oil/air seperator catch can.

yeah this is what I was thinking as well
I will eventually get a catch can and see if that helps

previous owner put one of those filters on the valve cover and its probably spraying out of that.

I would say sounds like a dipstick as well, but you said it was sealed into the tube.....I dunno what can be spraying oil onto the windsheild.

can't be the dipstick then, I'd say what ^ he said, possible cracked valve cover. other than that i'm stumped, i've never heard of oil spraying onto the windshield, very curious to find out what is causing this..

Go to autozone... By the ac crap there with be dye additives. Find the one for engine oil. Add it and put a few miles on it. The spot that glows the brightest or the highest is the area to search...

I'll put money on the oil coming from there. Just re-route it back to your intake tube and see if it still happens, or get a catch can
