Carbonetics clutch failure rate

Locally in Aus a claim's apparently been made by a distributor that "their failure rate is very high across different applications and different versions of their products". This has been put down to "manufacturing flaws in some and actual design flaws in others".

Are you guys seeing this?

the carbonetic friction material is by far the longest lasting friction material available. BUT, there are plenty of idiot drivers who wore them out quickly. then blamed the clutch. if the steel plates get warped from abuse the carbon material will wear very quickly.

I put 20k on a twin in my evo 1. when removed there was zero clutch dust. they measured just .005 thinner than when they went in. amazing as I drive 95% hard inner city with tonnes of shifting.

Except, last time I looked, Carbonetics just pulled out of the US market. So, how do you get them now?

I remember when HKS pulled out of US market. They offer NO support to USA whatsoever.

carbonetic pulling from USa will have no effect on me using their great products. here is what carbonetic has to say:

"For the foreseeable future, Carbonetic Europe will be looking after all of the US and Canadian territories for Carbonetic sales. We will make sure we do our up most to look after all of the existing customers in the USA and Canada, making sure their is minimal disruption to these customers for both trade and retail.

We will not be increasing any prices on the Blade products and are looking at a possible reduction in both the trade and retail prices in the near future.

If anyone has any inquires, please do not hesitate to contact us at info@carboneticeurope.com"

I've heard nothing but good things about these clutches. I drove my buddies evo with a twin disc carbonetics and it was awesome this was years ago and it's still in the car.

Well a friend is on a blade twin and loving it, I'm on the blade single and loving it, neither of us have any issues to report. Just wondering what the larger US market thought since 1. you guys tend to push things hard and 2. you call it like you see it.

Good to hear nothing but positives.

Biggest knock on Carbonetics (and its probably the only one) is price.

But

You have to pay to play.
