Concrete method to determine if bov leaks under driving wot condition?

What is a concrete way to check this? I don't like static tests.

One way I thought is to run a rubber stopper with a single hole, a barbed fitting feeding a boost gauge. If during a wot pull you see the gauge read pressure it's leaking. It would be normal to see small changes at tip in I suppose.

Thoughts? Probably gonna be a day or two before I try this ( gotta get to the winemaker for the stopper)

I don't know what you've tried, but a regular boost leak test will tell you 100% if the BOV is leaking or not. It should not be venting air back into the intake tube under your specified pressure

You can literally hear it and feel it leaking. Pretty definite answer there if you ask me

Boost leak testing puts pressure on the piston as well as the diaphragm. So thats a good test. Another test is to remove your bc, make a pull. remove the bov and block the hole. Make another pull. If boost goes up its leaking. Or if you find that you have turned the BC way up and it should be boosting more. Block off the bov again and boost should go up. On an Evox I have just clamped the bov hose and boost hit 33psi. Lol

boost leak testing you will pressurize the intake pipe that the bov is on just like the turbo would.

That's a pretty dynamic happening, what I felt you could t replicate with an air compressor.

But I can certainly agree with the static test.

Well, ill have to make a blt for my 84mm cover regardless lol

To add a personal experience, in my case I try to BLT my car to 30# as I spike 28# on the street. The car will hold pressure fine until about 27-29# where I hear a pssshhh sound. Sure enough my IX uncrushed DV starts leaking right then. Moral of the story a simple BLT(I keep thinking about food) is a simple way to check the function of your DV/BOV
