question for ACT clutch users...
I am currently shopping around for the ACT clutch and am just wondering what are the main differences between the RRE ACT clutch kit vs. the other vendor's ACT clutch kit. The RRE includes the 2900lb pressure plate, factory disc, and factory T/O bearing. The other vendors include everything ACT.
I guess my main question is why would RRE choose to stick with the factory disc and T/O bearing where the other vendors just sell everything ACT. Is it better to stick with the factory disc and T/O bearing? Are they any better than going with the aftermarket ACT? Just want to answer a few questions before I make my purchase.
Thanks a bunch guys...

RRE probably sells the ACT disc as an option because the OEM one is pretty well constructed (I remember Dirk stating this as well) and less expensive. The ACT pressure plate/OEM disc has been used numerous times in DSMs w/o complaint. I can't comment on the throwout bearing, but (again with the DSM reference) ACT's kit included an NSK bearing which was viewed to be inferior to the OEM item.
ACT does not make a disc for the EVO. They buy a stock disc and put it in a pretty ACT wrapper and make no secret of this. We just call it like it is on our web site.
We also have a stronger hub and tougher disc material disc that we had made ourselves. That is the upgrade option we give on the web site.
Our disc on the left, Stock/ACT on the right, we have 6 rivets holding the hub together, dual springs and a higher temperature rated friction material.

There are no aftermarket T/O bearings available that I have ever seen. This is a totally different situation from the cheap Chinese T/O bearings supplied in some DSM (Eclipse) clutch packages. No matter what pretty box your T/O bearing comes packaged in, it is a factory T/O bearing.
