This is an interesting statement, but I contest this idea of "extra weight"- novelty. It is true, as you stated that this iteration and the ikeya unit are a conversion of the H-pattern, but that statements ends right there. I see this unit -more of a short shifter. A shortshifter that can potentially yield further reduction of throws than whats currently offered in the market for ct9a. The current reduction for shortshifters in the market is about 35%-45%. I think with little modifications this could potentially get reduction to 50-55 range.
The Ikeya and this unit are not meant for syncromesh trans. It won't offer the immediacy of a true sequential transmission. But that philosophy of reduction can be applied in some way or form to H-patterns. I think the key to these type of unit will be ability toadjust them; daily drive mode, spirited driver mode and sport track mode.

I think I'd be pretty happy with the ikeya.. I might try to make my own. Just a ratchet cam system

Then paddle shift that is simple up grade

Very curious of the op though..

I can't say that I would want to do this, but if OP could chime back in here and let us know if he actually tried it would be interesting.

Sorry, haven't been on this forum in quite a while.

Business has been crazy (good) so my play time has been nonexistent lately.

I haven't pulled the trigger on this, and at this point I am not really sure I will.

I thought that this would be the mod that kept me in an Evo and out of a GT-R. I now realize that it doesn't matter... I still want a GT-R. So I think I will keep the Evo the way it is for when I feel like rowing gears, and pick up a GT-R for when I don't.

I still think this could be a very cool mod, I just can't justify dumping any more money into my Evo AND getting another toy... I hope someone does try it though, and it works as it should.

Just bumping this thread in case anyone is looking to source an Ikeya shifter for our Evos.

I have one but need to sell it to make way for other mods.

Please pm me if interested.

I have yet to put it up in the FS section but will this week.....
