Paddleshift your Evo 8 or 9......

www.mastershift.com

Anyone familiar with the company or have any first hand experience with one of their systems? I came across them and contacted them to see if they would make a system compatible for the Evo.

They said that the manual H system that they offer would work no problem.

I can't believe I am the only person with an Evo 8 or 9 that has considered this.

I searched, and found no mention of anything like this on the site at all. Any info would be appreciated before I pull the trigger blind.

I would have said the same thing 5 years ago.

You still operate the clutch with this setup... but no worries about missing a fast 2-3 anymore.

I would guess you need a dog box trans too.

Also if you still have to work the clutch I think human timing would be way off.

Works with the stock trans....

The way I understand it is:

1. You pull the paddle for a shift (up or down)
2. The command is ready in the control box and it gets ready to make the shift
3. You push the clutch
4. In milliseconds, the shift command is executed.

I like this setup

http://maktrak.com/specs/4wd-evo-conversion.pdf

With phneumatic paddle shifters and engine controlled by a Motec M800.

Same as the Nemo Evo used in WTAC. Of course it would cost more than my whole car....

O OK so the clutch actually activates it when you press it. That makes much more sense. What's the price tag? How is it for daily driving????

The system looks to be in the mid 2k range from what I can tell.

I have no idea on how well it actually works. That's actually what I was hoping to find here... someone who had heard of them, used one, or knew someone who did.

Is it just me or does the shift speed seem pretty slow on that system?

This reminds me of the Ikeya Sequential Shifter but a little more revised. I hope this goes far in our community.
