Does CEL cause poor performance

I recently installed a test pipe. I got a CEL after 50 miles. Car seems not a strong as it was. Either I am getting to used to 300whp and need more power or the CEL has caused a decrease in performance. Discuss please

I think going into "limp mode" depends on the exact CEL registered. What was the CEL code?

If the CEL was caused by the lack of backpressure to the rear O2 (Which sounds like the case), no, it should affect performance.

Does nothing. I have asked WORKS and ALAMO AUTOSPORTS. No limp mode.

When I get the P0300 CEL, timing is pulled for a few moments (can feel it) but it seems to return to normal thereafter (even though the CEL stays lit).

The cars at home definitely go into a limp mode for SES light. My buddy has had every evo since the evo IV and he confirms this. I went ahead and bought the 3" test pipe from UR. hope this fixes the problem. Plus that lightis driving me nuts. Not my daily driver but if it was that light would kill me
