evo engine failure - *video*
evo engine failure - *video*
short introduction: during time attack session car suddenly lost all power and began to smoke terribly. pulled over in pitlane, popped the hood and there was oil and smoke coming from vta catch tank (along with the smoke from exhaust). engine was obviously pushing oil in combustion chamber and sounded horribly
next day pulled rocker cover to see if there was any broken valve spring, retainer, valve stem seal or something. seems everything is on its place. removed plugs and there are puddles of oil in all cylinders. at least in three of them for sure. checked dipstick, no signs of water in oil.
no rough idle, AFR is good at idle, oil pressure is good...
would like to hear suggestions before I disassembly the engine. here is the vid of the sound
p.s. about engine - it's 2.3 with manley H beams, ACL race bearings, wiseco pistons (not HD,with upgraded pins) and S2 cams

Have you done a compression test yet? Did all cylinders hold the same psi? If so then maybe your engine is still good, change the turbo and burn off the rest of the oil in the cylinder, if the smoking stops then you're good if the compression test comes back good
