EVO 7 5 seed different to 8 and 9?

The other day after long awaiting my underhood shifter cable bushes to arive they had finaly came in the mail.... to find out the big bush was in no way going to fit onto the lower shifter cable, the bushing kit did say "8/9 5 speed" cable bushings when I have a VII but why is it so different? What are the differences between a VII VIII and IX 5 speed box??? And is there another b7shings kit made for VIIS???

Well it maybe the bushing for 6 speed one if it is JDM specific(JDM EVO VIII/IX GSR only come in 6 speed)
Try to clarify with seller whether this is a 5 speed or 6 speed application bushing

I had the same problem with shifter bushings. Normal did not fit to my stock cables. I figured that they are the same as in 6 speed and dont know why

Wow that's strange about the 6 speed fitting if its true.. I ordered one of the "smaller" bushes from the 8/9 5 speed seperatly I wonder of its only different for the VII

some how, some models carry different bushings, I have a friend with a E5 and he had to order 2 sets of bushings to get the 2 correct ones for his cables.

Confirmed the 6 speed fit the V11 5 speed cables...or you can order two of the 5 speed e9/8 shifter bush kits and fit both the small bushings (I learnt the hard way)
