Lightbulb Bee*R Rev Limiter/Powerbuilder install instructions on Evo IX SE

Ok. So, there are not a lot of very clear instructions in regards to vehicle specific installation for us. I’ll make this short and very simple…

The following instructions are the result of hours of research and wiring. But, one mans burden is another mans ease. So, I’ll pass it on to you. If all is done correctly, you should be good to go in about 30 minutes to an hour, depending on your wiring proficiency, and number of hands with opposable thumbs.

Here was how I wired the Bee*R, and it works perfectly

DISCLAIMER: DUE TO WIRES BEING EASILY CONFUSED, I AM INTENTIONALLY ONLY GIVING YOU THE ECU PIN LOCATIONS…YOU CAN REFERENCE THE ECU PINOUT BELOW AND FIND THE PROPER WIRE. IF SOMEONE IN THE COMMENTS INSTRUCTS YOU OTHERWISE, I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DAMAGES TO YOUR VEHICLE.

GREY WIRE LOOP – You will see 3 wires just above where the cable exits the box on the left hand side. A Grey, Brown and I believe Purple…Either way, CUT the GREY wire in half (Grey = Cut for use in 4cyl Vhcls), then tape using electrical tape to main wiring to keep it out of the way and looking clean.
RED – 12v POWER – ECU Pin 59
BLACK – Earth/Chassis ground – ECU Pin 58
YELLOW – RPM Signal – ECU Pin 45
GREEN – Ignition Signal – ECU Pin 43 (Crankshaft Position Sensor)

- Cheers fellas, hope this helped.

I don't see the usefulness in this product for an EVO

+1 no need. The stock ecu can do what you need.

Not exactly. If I am guessing correctly this probably is an ignition interrupt 2 step(like an MSD or a dynatek) instead of the OEM fuel cut 2 step. I agree with it bèing of little to no need.

Correct. It is an ignition cut, versus the stock ecu's fuel cut. The safe difference in the two is up for constant debate. However, the product works, and is another tool in the proverbial toolbox.

I appreciate everybody's right to their opinion, but I don't believe this thread needs to be filled with people saying it's of no need in their opinion. Be that as it may, others will chose to use it as I did, and this thread is for them.

Thanks

You can shoot fireballs with the stock ecu, but I guess this will make it easy. If that is what you want to do.

Product description...

Bee-R Ignition Misfiring System Rev Limitter Type H2. The item is designed to prevent over revving by cutting ignition and thus producing an open flame at the exhaust. Please note that the flame will not be produced with vehicles still using the OEM catalytic and those using a silencer at the tip of your aftermarket muffler.
