Evo ix Front Wheel Burnouts
Evo ix Front Wheel Burnouts
Hi, so today on the snow I really felt how much it sucks to have a bad ACD pump.
I tried going over a small pile of snow/ice. I couldn't do it. I opened the door and looked at my wheels to find out .... I WAS DOING FWD BURN OUTS. My diff was not sending enough power to the rear wheels when I needed it.
I need to find a cure for my bad ACD pump, I need that diff to lock

Every time I read these threads I'm so thankful that I didn't get the 05 new that I was looking at before I bought my 03

Don't get me wrong the evo still goes sideways, and it's tons of fun. Unfortunately my pump is not rebuildabable do to a burned el motor. But yes sometimes it feels like my old gst. I am considering getting a brand new one for $1800. I just wanted to let people know what happens with a bad ACD. Also it's hard to put down power when it's wet. I think it lights up the front wheels, since it spins the wheels when at WOT on 1st and 2nd, and I can tell the rear wheels are not loosing traction. So yes it's a neon sometimes.
Other than that it handles pretty well, and it's holding pretty well other than some rust.
