Jesus... So expensive. Now how big of a difference was it with pump in then out. It's been so long I don't even remember if it's worth re buying again

There is no difference whatsoever unless you are driving really aggressively on a loose surface or at the limit in turns on dry tarmac. Super all wheel control is what the Evolution is all about and I plan to road race my car this year. Also having the car fully functioning should keep its resale value higher.

After constantly nagging matts family and him on Facebook I finally got him to answer me.. Apparently my pump and someone else's was thrown in the trash. I don't know why that would mean start hiding rather than telling the owners. He sent me back my acd ecu today but that's worthless to me cause that cost less than $100. As far as my pump he's trying to cover up by saying that it was "beyond repair anyway" he sent me pics that he claims are of my pump. When I first sent pump out he was working on it fine and said he was putting it back together so I don't know how he it could've been "beyond repair"

Not to defend bad business practices but I have rebuilt like 30 of these pumps and a lot of them fall apart while disassemblimg them. People send this guy pumps that are probably rotten to the core with corrosion and then expect him to work some voodoo magic. It's probably somewhat his fault too as in personally anyone who's pump I rebuild I tell them upfront that there is a 20%-25% that the pump will not survive the surgery lol. It's all about setting your customers expectations. People should realise that rebuilding a pump that was never technically designed or built to be rebuilt is not an easy task. That's why I've still never officially entered the arena in this business model is because of threads like this, who needs that headache.

Oh I have no issue with that side of it, and I personally do not plan on rebuilding my pump if it goes, I'll just replace it. That being said, this guy vanishing off the face of the earth with people's money and hardware with no explanation or follow up is straight up robbery.Originally Posted by jrainwater

No, I am 100% with you there. Absolutely no excuse for this scum bag at all. I'm just saying that I kind of felt sorry for the guy, up until he started robbing people blind. Rebuilding these pumps can be a nightmare and he should have just stuck to making rebuild kits and let the customers do it themselves, oh and the flashing part too he could offer. It's just really hard to tell someone send me your pump and I might be able to fix it. All the pumps I have rebuilt I make the person send me tons of pics of the pump from all angles. I have had to reject some people because I could tell from the photo's that there was no way the pump could be brought back from the dead. Way too much corrosion. I hope everyone gets their stuff back and I hope this guy also gets what he has coming to him.

thanks but none of this info is valid anymore. The number has been cancelled and the address is a UPS store.

for those who are put off by this, i would look into what english racing is offering. at least they are a more reputable shop that has been around for a while

Care to elaborate? I tried ordering a kit from Kompas, but my mechanic said the plate wouldn't fit, it prevented the pump from spinning. So that was $160 wasted.
