Removing shift linkage arm tricks?

I tried searching but since I don't even know what this part is called it's hard to find topics. I'm trying to send my transmission to Jack's to get rebuilt and need to take off all small items on the transmission. I have everything off except this one arm. I tried using a C-clamp to press it out but it wasn't moving. Anyone have any tricks on how to get this thing out? I don't really want to hammer on it as I don't want to damage anything. Any and all help is appreciated.

It doesn't come off like you think it does. There's a little housing on with 3 bolts I believe, that's how it comes off. But you shouldn't have to take it off for the rebuild

I think you can knock out the pin removing the arm but leaving the shaft. I think I would leave it to protect the shaft during shipping. The alternative is to shift it to neutral, pull the four bolts and then pull the housing. A spring will probably fall of the other end and have to be fished out with a magnet. This leaves a big hole for stuff to fall into.

Maybe call the rebuilder and see what he wants done.

I bought the clamshell box from Jack's and I was test fitting the top half without it being in the box. It didn't look like it would fit, hence why I asked the question. After putting it in the box the top fit fine with the arm on. So, I said to myself "If it fits, it ships!". Thanks for the input. Problem avoided.
