decided finally.. 2.2(4g63) at jackson automachine shop
Its very common to have to machine parts as Tony pointed out...thats why we call them "machine shops". I spec the pistons and rods and people have different measuring equipment apparently.
It could be worse though, I had a shop in Canada that refused to believe the 6 bolt bearing was the correct bearing for the rod.

i havnt seen the block but only in pics yet cuz the block was delivered to my brother...i will ask him to check and take some pics and post....but the pistons used were wiesco stroker piston
tony should be able to answer that if the pistons are sticking above the deck with 153mm rods as he built it and i hav'nt had my hand on the block yet

I have to be the bearer of bad tidings, but you are in for a "ride". There is one thing to be said about having a proven engine program and then there is another about saying you do--- and JAM is the latter. Unfortunately you can look at a motor and believe that it is "well built" or "looks good"--- with that said think along the lines of cheap knockoff turbos.... they "look good" and can even seem "well built" but once you try to actually use it--- then the truth comes out. Since you didn't build the engine yourself and I presume you do not have the tools to do so, you are at their mercy--- and they definitely know that and prey on that.
You may be OK or maybe not... it is a crap shoot. The problem is that no matter what you do, it will always be your fault. Wrong oil, wrong filter, wrong assembly procedure, wrong tuning, wrong engine temperature, wrong type of use, wrong time of day to run the car--- I have seen it with them time and time again with not only their import engines but also domestics. It is simply not acceptable.
I do wish you the best of luck and hope you do get the clean end of the stick. With that said you need to document everything in your build with video, pictures, measurements, receipts, notes--- be diligent as when the time comes it will give you a leg to stand on. If they have a procedure to assemble an engine or a checklist to start an engine--- get it via email. If they do not, then their reply of them not having one will be one more thing on your side. If you are not sure about something, email them and DO NOT call. It is all about what you get in writing. It is all in protecting your best interest.... and that is the large sum of money that you have saved to buy the engine you wanted.
