The thing is, the TC fluid issue is the same as the 6 speed issue.

There are people that get away with changing to a different fluid or tracking/abusing their 6 speed and never have an issue. These people invariable end up posting things on the forums like: "This is what I do and I've had no problems" which other people read.

They aren't lying, they are just a vocal minority in this case.

They problem is that when the other thirty (or whatever) people that do have ruined TCs or shattered fourth gears in their 6 speeds don't post, it creates a bias.

People think it's cool to make this change because the majority happens to be silent.


OP: Try some different fluids in the rear diff based on what TRE recommends and if it's not working, then you might have a bigger issue.

If you are a DIY person, and the diff plates are toast, you might want to replace the clutch discs in the diff yourself. You can do it with simple hand tools.
