Evo 8 head question. G6ew 1 vs. g6ew 2
I have a 2003 Evo. The head that it came with has g6ew 1 stamped on it. I also got an extra head with the car that is stamped g6ew 2. According to a guy at one mitsubishi dealership in August of 2005 there was a change but he had no clue what. I am finishing putting my stroker motor together and I used the g6ew 2 head and the two differences I have found thus far: the water pipe is larger and has two outlets as opposed to one small one on the older one. The second is what I need help with. The cam sensor goes on the back of the camshaft in a housing. In that housing there is a cylinder that bolts to the cam (what the sensor reads when it rotates). Here is the issue. The early version has one large and one small piece sticking up where the sensor reads, the other version has a large and a medium piece.
So do they read different ? Which one should I use ? Will my ecu correctly read the early version only or is there something different in the newer head that requires that cylinder ?
I will add photos but it is giving me difficulties in doing so currently

Never found out the official differences. All I found was a water pipe insert was different and a piece of the cam sensor that is different. I am almost ready to start the car up finally. It's been on the back burner for some time unfortunately
