Just shipped one to an EvoM member since his car will be done before mine.

Looking forward to hearing how it works. I suggest avoiding any sort of lightened flywheel. They are not good for drivability. Launching is harder too.

Yup. I wish the aftermarket made a stock weight flywheel. 15lbs is really light enough as it is. Going to the ACT streetlite flywheel (12lbs) made getting the car going noticeably more sensitive to clutch and throttle pedal inputs.

Hmm, I wonder how the high rpm shifting and lockout is with this clutch vs exedy twin hd...

That would be my only deciding factor.

The owner of SpeedSport (RJ) says there should be no high-speed lock out issues. A local racer won the Modified AWD class in RTA. That's all high-speed, high RPM shifting. And he has the steel flywheel clutch on his car

Twin disc carbon-carbon pull type isn't too much more, if you really want a twin In fact, it's only $200 or so more than the Exedy twin cera-metallic.

My car isn't on the road yet. I sold one to Biffman, and last time I checked, he was still getting his assembly balanced.

Anyone running this clutch yet? I hate my comp stage 2 and want something that will hold good power but not have any stiffer of a pedal. And not smell if you barley slip it too much.

Why do you hate the Comp? I'm past 15k miles + light flywheel daily driving in a hilly part of the country, with over 500lbs of torque. Holds like a dream, never slips, and shifts better than my ACT could have hoped for.

Mainly if you barely slip it too much it will stink. Over 7000 it doesn't like to shift fast. Pedal feel is good but seems if you slip it to much on a launch it glazes the flywheel and will slip.

The single carbon/carbon has a 10% heavier clutch pedal feel as rated from SpeedSPort. Also, the carbon will take a lot more abuse than the comp 2, but the clutches are not comparable price wise. THe SPeed Sport is about $700 more from what I can tell. Then again, you're getting a pretty high performance clutch.

THe SPeedSport is in the ballpark performance wise of an Exedy Twin, but without the rattle of a twin disc.

My exedy twin only rattles when the clutch is disengaged/pedal pushed in. Sitting at a light, in neutral with both feet out, no noise.

I am interested in the SpeedSport, but I would like some experience from users on how long it lasts. One of the biggest downsides I see with the Exedy Twin(which is also a clutch I am considering) is that they don't typically last that long. I don't care about the noise much. Hopefully we can get some reviews on the SpeedSport and its longevity.

I know SpeedSport has suspended operations, but did you go ahead with installing the clutch on your Evo? I'm still curious about this clutch.

Everything is balanced. About to start shortblock assembly

So, I will have an update in my build thread when the car is ready
