EVO 8/9 Synchrotech Carbon Synchros
We had a small engineering glitch on the 1-2 synchros. The inner synchro body is too thin to support the carbon composite but we resolved the problem by redesigning the inner synchro with a steel body rather than brass.
Currently we are still waiting for revised tooling quotes. (This phase is a long and slow process - sorry)
I will post another update as soon as I have more information.

Update:
We have decided to move forward on production of the EVO 4-9 (5 speed) 3rd, 4th and 5th carbon synchros.
The price for the 3/4/5 set will be $199.95 but for those who want to pre order we will be giving a 20% discount ($159.96 + shipping)
It will be 3-4 months for the tooling and parts production. No payment will be required until the parts are finished and ready to ship.
PM your contact info with your PayPal address and we will start a waiting list for the first batch.

Correction 4-9
When the first batch is finished I will be sending a free set to Shep, TRE and Jacks for review. We will also be selling them at a discount for those who want to order early.
I wondered the same thing at first, but it's because of the re-tooling they need to do for those. They're selling the 3-5 synchros as they are ready to go and be tested, and the 1-2 will come later
My guess is they're doing this so people can test and give feedback and such, instead of waiting 2-3 (or whatever) months for the 1-2 to be done also before any testing or feedback can be given. Think of it as a pre-release essentially

The redesign of the 1-2 due to the thinness of the inner synchronizer ring will be very expensive and will take quite a while to do. We already have a large investment in tooling and production cost for the first batch of 3/4/5 so I want to see how it goes with these before committing to the 1-2. If everything goes well we may make the 1-2 next year. We are also looking at a stronger bronze material for the 1-2 rather than the carbon that may work better with the size limitations. It will take some time to test alternative 1-2 options but we haven't given up on them.

I want to thank you Syncrotech and sorry if us evo owners SOUND like we are not happy because a full set is not available. We will take what we can get for now but we all look forward to the release of the full 1-5 syncro set!
I think there will be some hesitation to buy until these have been tested although I am sure you have a few pre orders for them already. Once tested I am sure A LOT of evo owners will jump on the 345 set with just as many guys waiting for the full 1-5 set IF their tranny CAN make it that long.
As for me I am going to run my tranny until it wont shift anymore and if thats next pass then I will buy what you have available and if it holds for a good 6 months or so I would obviously hold out for the 1-5 set. Again thanks for releasing this to our community!
