We ordered the tooling for 1st-2nd carbon synchros for the EVO 5 speed 4-7 and 8-9 . We will have the complete 1-5 sets available in a few months.

The MSRP will be $349.95 and everyone on the waiting list will get a 20% discount on the set

So Question, because I'm not super-technical:

before you stated that the 1-2 synchro inner ring where the carbon goes was too thin to be "structurally sound", which is why the 3-5 were the only ones you were offering for a bit. You said you were going to do 1-2 out of steel instead of brass. Is this still true? are there benefits / drawbacks to steel vs. brass synchros?

 

I'm in for the complete set as well. I'm second on the wait list as it stands.

 

I'll purchase a set, if you decide to make them for the 6spd.

On the 4-7 we are using brass on the inner synchro because it is only a dual cone design. The 8-9 is a triple cone which we are using steel on the inner ring because brass would not be strong enough with the thickness required for the carbon lining. The steel inner body is stronger and more expensive to make but is the only option that will work on the 8-9.
