Beating a dead horse

I know I might get burned and told to do a search, which by the way I do on a daily basis to try and find out info. Anyway here goes nothing.
1. what gear/s do I want to test at wot to set the boost with my profec b spec 2?
2. i know everyones setting are alittle different, but in doing searches, the variance in settings with members with similar mods is crazy- is this a common theme with ebc's?
3. is boost spike where it jumps up when you mash the throttle?
4. as the rpm's increase is 1-2 psi variance ok?

Thanks for any resone i get. i have not been able to find out answers by simply doing a search.

1. 3rd gear is fine to test in.....try finding a long empty road and tach it out in 3rd

2. cannot answer that as we dont use the PB2 often

3. If you ahve your high boost set to 18 and under WOT it hits 20, thats a spike. it should not spike at all with an EBC...not even a little. if it does, one of your settings (usually gain, offset, wastegate duty cycle, or whatever your EBC maker calls it is off)

4. see #3

#2 That is the Profec B. I am not big on HKS but the EVC V is the truly the ****. Best thing I ever did was dump the B2 and get the EVC.

The Spec II is a piece of crap. I have one and can't wait to dump it for a Hallman MBC.

It spikes randomly, it spools slower than stock, and the boost fluctuates constantly.

Apparently, a few were released with a bad diode. I seem to have received one of those.

ok, i just looked at my PB2 and it says 05822 on the bottom. i guess i got one of the bad ones also... anyway, i thought that a MBC wasn't supposed to be as good as an EBC. i thought the EBC held boost better or something?? anyway, please let me know if i should sell this one and get another or whatever.

Thanks
Ben
