Buy the MR. If you plan to make substantial power, or track the car extensively you will want a 5-spd swap, but its not crazy expensive to do so, and having a clean Evo is more important than the trans. I hate the stock 5 spd gearing, so I'd recommend a Shep Stage 2 "ultimate ratio" if you do swap transmissions. I did stock 6-spd, stock 5-spd, and now Shep Stage 2 UR and its my favorite out of the three.

oh men sorry to hear that. i have a mr with a 5 speed swap the 6 speed tranny are very fragile

I'd have to agree with this. Don't force buying the car because you have the option to right now. Wait for the car that you really want. Save yourself some money and the headache and just wait for a clean GSR to pop up and snag it rather than the MR.
