Can't we run this filter all times ? Is it mandatory to change OEM style filters after cleaning most of the metal particles out of the engine ?

I like to have personal experience before i would give advice on something like this. i am still using it full time. And i did hook up an oil pressure gauge temporarily to see pressures. pressures looked good. My feelings are this filter at 100% filtration at 45 micron is better idea than a 10 micron filter that bypasses specs that can hurt the bottom end. it took about 6 filter inspections before there were no more alarming particles.

Thanks. Ordered one from Summit for my new motor.

I would think having it not bypassed would help.

Hey 94AWD would you happen to know the p/n for the 10 micron filter element for the 10854 filter? I'd just feel more at ease running a 10 for the first little bit to catch as much as possible.

10 micron = 10816
45 micron = 10815

Newegg lists both the 10815 and the 10816 as 45 micron.

Awesome! I had found the 10 micron ones but wasn't sure if it would work with that specific housing (10854). Thank you!

go to the oberg filter website.

trans/diff filters are 115 micron.
oil filters are 60 micron
fuel filters are 28 micron.

you are not going to hurt anything using a 45 micron filter.

Seems it was too good to be true. My order was just cancelled by the seller.

I had ordered it from Summit but I called late last week to check on it and they said it was back ordered until the end of October.
I checked eBay and found it selling from carid and said it would ship by the 17 so I bought it. It was $103 but add shipping and NJ sales tax.....

Yea mrfred NewEgg is out of stock, I realized it yesterday. I also found one on eBay for $103, I was able to purchase the 10 micron filter off of NewEgg though, it was cheaper there than anywhere else at $15 and free shipping.
